Description:

Batting Mallet, an essential tool for great preparation of your bat. The mallet is key as it the knocking in of your bat compress' the wood allowing your bat to 'ping' the ball. This compression from knocking in the wood does what it says almost hardening the wood giving it less chance of cracking or splitting if knocked in correctly.

We recommend 6 hours of thorough knocking in, this is a ball park figure as each bat is each to their own. Some bats are pre knocked in and some bats are a naturally harder wood meaning less time to be knocked in. Please don't be put off by this time as the more you use the bat/ more you knock it in, the better your bat gets.

This mallet is slightly larger than the other mallet we offer.

You can go for less than this however there are often vital signs if the bat does crack/ break to show whether the bat has been prepared correctly.

We also stock Linseed oil a naturally preservative for the bat, this preservative prevents the chances of the bat from drying out and splitting, and also protects the bat from becoming whethered. We offer small tubs of this oil at a small cost of £5 which will lst a very long time. We recommend 2-3 very light coats of oil.

We also offer a protective face, the alternative of oil, the protective face does what it says and prevents the face and edges from exposure to the hard cricket balls. The face holds the bat together if it does crack or start to split. The face comes at a cost of £10 and we will also provide some batting tape to keep the grip in place.
