DFCA Cricket Coaching Courses for Children and Adults
DFCA run Cricket Coaching Courses throughout the year in Bristol, where we see thousands of cricketers from Children to Adults, of all ages, ranges, abilitys, and genders. Term Time Courses, Weekend Courses and Holiday Courses throughout Bristol are all popular options.
The Courses are delivered to the highest standard and use all the latest skills, drills and equipment, and may also incorporate the bowling machines and video analysis.
The DFCA courses are structured and designed to help players improve their confidence with a positive mind set in the four main areas of the game Batting, Bowling (Medium, Fast or Spin) Fielding and Wicket Keeping. The coaches encourage the cricketers to think for themselves, to ask and answer questions and to bring their own experiences of the game to the courses. We use clear, simple language that will allow every player to understand and enjoy their cricket.
We also run Specialist Courses and Masterclasses with Current or Former Professional Players and Coaches

3 - 5 year old sessions are fast moving and fun and takes place in a supportive and encouraging environment, which enables children of all abilities and experience to have a great time whilst learning the basics of the game. Mums and Dads will be encouraged to join in the fun too to help with our skill activities on a 1-2-1 basis with your child!
Howzat4kidz School Years 1, 2, 3, 4 Boys & Girls Mixed.
Sessions are developing on the basics and foundations set from 3 - 5 year old sessions looking into small sided games and developing the fundamentals of the game. Both tactical and technical awareness are included and put into practice when skill based games and pairs cricket matches are played during our courses. Most importantly we enthuse all participants through maximising participation and creating a fun and supportive learning environment.
DFCA also run our DFCA Howzat4kidz Team which will take the team/s on the road to play local cricket clubs in pairs cricket matches 5/6 matches per season.
Junior Cricket School Years 4, 5 & 6 for boys and girls mixed.
Junior cricket is the transition from Howzat4kidz softball cricket to hard ball cricket. Learning the basics understanding of hard ball cricket, setting the platform for the players to learn and try things and improve your core skills required for the game.
We cover all departments of the game, Batting, bowling both spin and pace bowling, and fielding & wicket keeping. We go into more technical and tactical detail whilst adapting the drills and skills to suit the junior cricket year groups. The skills and drills are adapted to each individual to help them achieve the desired outcome of each of the sessions whether it be batting, bowling or fielding.
Advanced Cricket for School Years 7, 8, 9 & 10 boys and girls mixed.
Our advanced cricket sessions are available all year round to all abilities and genders in school years 7, 8, 9 & 10. This is a step up from junior cricket where group numbers are reduced to provide a more individualised programme. We shall use upto date coaching methods to develop the individual in all aspects of the game and oneself in the following areas; technical, tactical, psychological and physiological development. Coaching tools used are BOLA bowling machines, gym equipment, apple IPad, Cricket Coach app for video analysis and all the latest equipment. We shall help you problem solve, and create a learning environment which can be transferable to nets and games.
Please note if you are attending just singular sessions on holiday courses, we run the programme for those who have signed up for the duration, and aspects may not be covered on the day you attend.
The players can develop their skills and knowledge with our fantastic team of DFCA coaches who will facilitate their learning on their journey to adult cricket.
Adult Cricket Coaching for all abilities, genders and School Year 11+
DFCA's adult course welcomes all players from, local teams in the BYCL (Year 11+) B&D and WEPL cricket leagues, pub teams, social teams and individuals who want to improve.
